OCIS is a large corporate company with their head office based in Box Hill, Melbourne. They approached Integrity Office to organise the fitout and project management of their new 950 square metre call centre in Suva, Fiji.
The brief given to us by OCIS was to use as much of the existing infrastructure as possible, be cost effective and minimise wastage, whilst injecting new life and vibrancy into the large space. The fact that OCIS engaged us early on was also an important factor in the success of their large-scale commercial fitout. We had time to visit the Fiji site and design/construct floor plans to suite their requirements based on the scope of the works required. All these elements, as well OCIS’s 500 plus employees, was something that Integrity Office took into consideration to design a cost effective, yet quality office design.
We were able to be creative with this large open space. We designed: over 20 individual offices; four large multi-functional board/meeting rooms; and two large training rooms with operable dividing walls between both rooms for functionality. We also designed a modern reception and waiting area & large kitchen and breakout room for the 500 plus staff.
We also worked with OCIS to create a call centre layout and design that was not only functional, but also promoted a more open, friendly working environment with cluster of 9 to 12 ‘team’ workstation pods. It was a large open space that allowed room for 500 plus staff with acoustic panels to absorb much of the unnecessary background noise.
One of the primary challenges of this fitout, was working alongside the Fijian contractors on Fijian time! However, we were able to supervise and assist all building works to ensure everything was up to our high standards. We were able to overcome all of the challenges to produce an excellent and quality office fitout/call centre for our Melbourne-based client, keeping within OCIS’s budget and short time schedules.
